Property in Cyprus has traditionally been divided between Paphos on the west end of the south coast, Limassol on the central south coast area and Larnaca on the eastern part of the south coast. New areas are Polis far west and Agia Napa in the far east. Property for sale can be found in all of these Cyprus areas.. Polis is a rural location and appeals to the more environmentally-minded purchasers whilst Agia Napa during the summer has a party atmosphere and in the winter becomes a quiet fishing village.
PAFOS
The town of Pafos has two main areas, Kato Pafos (lower
Pafos) and Pano Pafos (upper Pafos). Kato Pafos is best known for its mediaeval fort; old fishing
harbour; and sea-front promenade and is highly popular with tourists and locals alike! There are numerous sandy beaches here, along with excellent restaurants and entertainment facilities. Cultural events ranging from operas to art exhibitions and concerts regularly take place here. Pano Pafos encircles the colourful Old Pafos Market, and is brimming with modern shops and boutiques.
LIMASSOL
With a population of around 200,000, Limassol is the second largest town on the island, and is situated midway between Pafos and
Larnaca. Limassol well known for being a bustling cosmopolitan metropolis, as well as a town steeped in history.
Vibrant events and street celebrations fill Limassol’s calendar, ranging from carnivals to wine festivals. Seemingly infinite sandy beaches edge the town of
Limassol, and the warm waters are perfect for water sports of all kinds. It's all too easy to lose track of time in Limassol centre's excellent shopping malls, art galleries and theatres.
Limassol is 45 minutes from Pafos or Larnaca airports.
AKAMAS
The Akamas region is southern Cyprus’s last and least developed frontier – Akamas is a region of spectacular, rugged scenery, sandy coves where turtles nest and dolphins occasionally frolic. The Akamas Peninsular has wonderful crystal clear water, quaint sea side villages and hillsides covered with thick woodland where the last flocks of wild moufflon (a small, wild European sheep) roam.
If empty beaches are what you seek, then Akamas has them, and more. Within the Akamas area are ancient Stone Age dwellings, remnants of Byzantine and Classical settlements and starkly beautiful sea cliffs on the westernmost extremity of the Island of Cyprus.
PEYIA
Situated in the foothills of
Pafos, Peyia is a short drive from the nicest beach in the area at Coral Bay. Peyia is a very typical Cypriot village. An ancient church overlooks the centreof
Peyia, while the narrow streets and alleyways are full of old and interesting houses. Peyia is still largely unspoilt with lively tavernas where you can eat at a fraction of the cost you would find in the main tourist areas. You can also buy all your provisions including fresh meat and bread in the Peyia village stores.
Peyia is well situated for exploring the western side of Cyprus. It offers easy access to the Akamas peninsula, with its spectacular landscapes, deserted sandy beaches and conservation projects
To the north of Peyia, many roads meander through the hills and then down to Polis and
Latchi. These take you through acres of vineyards in steep valleys with some outstanding views to the Troodos Mountains and on to the coast and Aphrodite's Baths.
The driving time to Peyia is approximately 40-50 minutes from Pafos airport
PISSOURI
Pissouri Bay is situated about 3kms away from Pissouri village. The beach has an EU blue flag, and there are a number of restaurants, bars and mini-markets in the immediate vicinity.
Pissouri Village, about a five-minute drive from the beach, is set up on a hill commanding stunning 360-degree views. It is a traditional, quaint Cretian village comprising a cluster of tranquil stone buildings. There are many small, personal
tavernas, in Pissouri Village, a few shops, and a church. The local people are extremely friendly and helpful. At night, in Pissouri there is a relaxed and calm atmosphere, away from crowds and nightclubs. Eating out in Pissouri is relatively inexpensive and the local wines are delicious.
Pissouri offers a variety of holiday options. It is an ideal place to relax and unwind enjoying the pleasures of the beach and surrounding countryside.
POLIS
Polis is located North West of the region of Pafos at a 30 minute distance from the town of
Pafos, 45 minutes from Pafos airport and less than 2 hours away from Larnaca airport.
